Hello there, you gorgeous soul,
Here is what I am supposed to tell you on my bio page
I am living the dream. My handsome husband and I are thriving and wildly in love living in Baja, Mexico. We have two amazing and accomplished boys, one of whom we are still homeschooling.
:I work with my five dogs who are reliable business partners. I get to walk on the beach nearly every day. I start my days leisurely with meditation and a morning bath. I´m living in the home of my dreams that we build from the ground up in a picturesque little Mexican village. You know, #humblebrag
.And while all of that is true, it's not the whole story.

My backstory is a case study in the reality that life is complicated.
Yes, I got married to my High school sweetheart at nineteen and divorced at 25. My ex-husband did not stop dating after we got married. That is only part of why he's my ex.
I single parented for more than a decade, at times living below the poverty line.
I have done some fantastic world traveling that changed me.
I did almost a decade of homeless advocacy work. I started and ran an emergency shelter in my nonexistent spare time for two years. I burned completely out.
I have worked for myself for most of my adult life. When I decided to become a coach, I left the technology universe, where I owned an internet service provider when the tech world was booming in money, and no one really understood what coaching was.
I didn't meet the love of my life until I was 39. Before that, I cycled through dangerously abusive relationships. My last bad relationship ended with four different law enforcement agencies involved and a strongly worded restraining order.
My husband and I adopted our second child very soon after becoming a couple - when people refer to adoption as a journey, what they secretly mean is, at times, it is a trip through the bowels of hell. Adoption journeys are usually hard.
I have tattoos and piercings most people will never see. I will probably get more.
I have spent years of my career juggling political activism and my coaching career. Often my activism work collided with who people thought I should be as a coach - law of attraction and activism can make uncomfortable bed partners.
Social justice and race equity are my passion. I have run dozens of campaigns, including a statewide campaign for police reform.
We moved our family to Mexico and promptly lost everything we had, including our home to a wildfire.
We stayed. We rebuilt. We have no regrets.
Some weeks I am vegan. Occasionally, I treat myself to a steak.
I am addicted to Doctor Pepper, and if we met in person, you might catch me smoking a cigarette in the shade behind a tree somewhere.
I used to teach yoga. I barely practice anymore.
I am now helping to caretake my elderly parents who live on my property,
and working /loving a full-time coaching practice,
and running a coach training program,
and you know, homeschooling a brilliant kid with ADHD,
and trying to learn Spanish well enough to at least talk to my neighbors without Google translate,
and, and, and...
I have made a whole lot of big-ticket mistakes that give me no right to judge anyone. Trust me, working with me is a safe, judgment-free space.
There is a rather large other list of things that are a part of the whole story that might be too eyebrow-raising for web copy fit for public consumption. However, when we get to know each other, I am happy to share.
Basically, who I am, is an open book that is really curious about you and what makes you tick.
You know what?
All my qualifications matter and might even be really important. However, my life experience makes me an exceptional coach. The compilation of all the messiness, all the mistakes, all the wild twists and turns have made me a woman with superpowers.
Same goes for you.
All your messiness, all the mistakes, and the wild twists and turns made you super-powerful too.
We are both beautifully brilliant, and I can't wait to hear your story.
Loving you madly,
Lisa
